Christmas Chaos

December was incredibly chaotic as Ryan worked every spare moment on getting the basement livable again. I helped as much as I could but mostly just played referee with the kids as we sat and looked at each other on one room of the house for the month. I streamlined my decorating for Christmas, but we couldn't go without a tree even though we didn't have time to go cut one this year (but somehow we still ended up with Charlie Brown style, as you can see).

We had planned on having Christmas ourselves at home, which was really fun as the boys are getting to be great ages. We've adopted one of the Sutherland family traditions, which is a special scavenger hunt for the final big present and it was so fun to write the clues and then see Bridger solve them.

Ryan worked his tail off that week drywalling, priming, painting, tiling, plumbing, trimming and all sorts of other things (with some outside help, but mostly on his own) and finished the main room enough to get carpet installed on the 28th and we left that night for the 15-hour trip to Bailey, CO and the Sutherland clan.

We hit the Denver zoo in our snowpants, went sledding and enjoyed lots of food and family before we had to jump back in the car for the ride home.
