Two growing boys

I wanted to update you all on what's going on day by day with the boys as they seem to be growing up before our eyes.

Bridger
is coloring, drawing and writing constantly. He's enjoying preschool more and telling me lots of Bible stories from there. Castles, knights and dragons are his favorite toys--especially if they're scary. He's had some great lines lately too. Here are a few:

[Bridger]"Mommy, can I name the new baby?"
[me] "Well, do you have anything picked out?"
[Bridger] "No, but I didn't get to name myself or Asher."
[me] "Good point"
So far he's come up with Bob for a boy or Susan for a girl. I guess he's a little more traditional than his parents...

"Grandpa, why do you live in a forest? Oh, I know, so you can hang a deer from every tree." (it was hunting season last time we were home)

During brother bubble bathtime:
[me] "what was that sound, did Asher poop?"
[Bridger, exasperated] "Mom, poop floats!"

"Why did God make pinkies? The nails are so hard to clip."Asher doesn't have many lines yet, but he's adding a crazy amount of new words daily. His first official word combination was "more candy" and I hate to admit that included in his 17-month vocabulary are the words cake, cookie, chocolate, candy and treat. I'm so proud. Mostly I hear "mommy, pup" all day, which means, "mommy, PICK ME UP" or I simply listen to a chorus of "mommy" for no particular reason.

Asher's mostly into anything his big brother is doing including coloring with markers (thank goodness for washables). He has always held his writing utensils correctly which is such a trip to see because he concentrates so hard on those scribbles. Plus, as you can see from the picture, he's already reading the classics, so I guess his large cranium might be of some use after all. He's a born snuggler and loves to hug and kiss all of us.

Both the boys are happy and healthy as we end 2007 so we couldn't be more thankful.

You know, it's taken Genevieve a long time to learn to say "please", but "chocolate"...only one bite!
