Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. I really enjoyed what I consider to be my "first" mother's day this year. Every other year mother's day has fallen in the midst of finals for Ryan and, though he tried to pull together something, I always felt guilty even having him cook a meal. No guilt this year!
I enjoyed sleeping in, mother's style (going back to sleep after nursing Asher at 6:30), breakfast in bed, baked ham and all the fixings for lunch with no cooking or clean-up, a two-hour nap and a long bike ride by the river tonight with the kids. I'm so excited because we just bought a pull-behind bike caddy for the kids. Plus, Ryan just finished fixing up a bike for me at the Free Cycles shop where he volunteers weekly. It's a really awesome idea where volunteers help folks fix up old bikes or build bikes from parts and then give them away free. We're trying to do more biking and walking to keep to just one car and get on the "green" bandwagon. Ryan hardly ever drives and I walk as much as I can. Most of my errands are within walking distance, but everything I need to do is within biking distance so I'm really excited!

that is soo neat! And what a great Mothers Day! I asked Josh why we had three cars and he has been telling me not to worry that he is selling one. But I do not even understand why we need two, since we are both home all day and our town is so walkable. Josh does not share my confusion: "softball", he says. How else could he play and Sam & I go watch without two cars? :) I had an answer for that too though - the other Chapmans are a block away from us! :)
