We're tackling a few minor home improvement projects and I have the first pictures of something finally done! Aunt Missy and her boyfriend Kael (who happens to own a drywall and painting business) came up for Easter weekend and we put them through a grueling 18-hour painting day on Saturday. Our goal was putting a chair rail in the boys' room plus painting it and also painting the kitchen. Here are some before and after's of the kids' room--animal themed, of course. You can click on the pictures to see them larger.

We really wanted the kids' room done in a day so we weren't moving furniture in and out and finding places for them to sleep. I was agonizing over paint colors in the kitchen so we're still tweaking that, but there will be pictures and a story to follow. We also had contractors here all week last week cutting out french doors to the backyard. There's still dust all over the house,

but the door will be great--so will the deck which Ryan promises to build in his spare time!
