Valentines Day
Valentines Day was never a huge deal for me and even less so since I've been with Ryan because his birthday is the day after so we usually make a joint celebration. This year may have been my best, however, as Ryan gave me the day off. I left in the morning and had a leisurely cup of chai at a cute downtown coffee shop and read The Memory Keeper's Daughter for an hour and a half. Then, I headed out to do a bit of shopping, driving and walking from store to store without a stroller, carseat carrier or shopping cart. Several times I caught myself unconsciously thinking I forgot a child in the car. I came home in the afternoon and was greeted by Bridger with a homemade bouquet of tissue paper roses he made for me that morning. He was just about to leave for a party with his kindergarten-age friend down the street so Ryan and I spent a nice afternoon together during Asher's nap. Then, we made dinner together, put the kids down early and enjoyed some molten chocolate cakes by the fire in the new ramekins I bought myself today. Oh the simple pleasures of life!
